Marina Kasimova is working in Molecular simulations group since 2009. Her research interests include simulations of ion channels (bacterial potassium channel KcsA, mammalian voltage-dependent potassium channels kv1.2, kv2.1 and kv7.X). Among methods Marina uses for research working are atomistic and coarse-grained molecular dynamics, steered molecular dynamics, methods for evaluating free energy profile (umbrella sampling, adaptive biasing force, metadynamics).
Master thesis: “Molecular mechanisms of ion conduction in bacterial potassium channel KcsA studied via molecular dynamics simulations”.
PhD thesis: "Modulation of the function of voltage-gated potassium channels:
Molecular Dynamics simulations".
